At South Devon University Technical College, we have made significant investment to provide innovative, ultra-modern and ground-breaking facilities to equip our students in preparing them for the World of Work.
The purposely designed state of the art building is modern and spacious; housing our professional industry standard Engineering workshops. There is a brand new fully operational Health Science Suite, equipped with a purpose-built medical ward with hospital beds and cutting edge in professional medical equipment and technology.
The new Digital Technology Facility is modern and house the latest in IT equipment where students have access to the latest systems, applications and gaming software programmes. Each of the Digital Technology suites are fully equipped with advanced and effective product management applications at the cutting edge of digital systems and future trends.
A new modern and spacious dining café provides an environment where students can meet and study: outdoor spaces with basket and football areas, and a use of large sports ground in the summer months. An impressive sports hall is situated in the lower ground floor of the building.
The newly created Sixth Form zone is fresh and welcoming, with its own lecture theatre, computer suite and a study area where students can learn independently. There is also a superb walled rooftop garden where students can study and relax outside.
All together the building and premises has been constructed with the modern student in mind.
Engineering



Leading the way beyond the classroom, our Engineering Facility has two purpose-built Engineering workshops where students use the latest in Engineering computer programmes and equipment.
These professional industry-based workshops, allow our students to create computer-aided design CAD/CAM manufacture (CAD drawings) ; using 2D and 3D printers, Bridgeport Milling machines, Colchester Tornado lathes, pneumatic and hydraulic power systems, as well as specialist equipment to work on range of metallic materials to create products and systems.
Students also use the latest hardware to create physical microcontroller systems and products.
Our specialist facilities support our students in becoming the multi-skilled engineers of the future.
Health Sciences



Our Health Science students have the advantage in having hands-on experience using the latest in equipment and facilities where the learning spaces are advanced.
The brand new Newton and Cavendish Healthcare Suite is a fully functional hospital ward with of adult medical beds where students have access to anatomy models, CPR training dummies (The Resusci Anne QCPR Training Manikin Full Body), full body patient simulators (robotic patients ‘Clinical Chloes’), geriatric sensory impairment kits and advanced child birth simulators.
Our Childcare students are able to maximise their learning potential by practicing their newly gained skills on robotic babies using the latest programming systems, which simulate patient medical conditions.
Students have the advantage of working with the latest medical equipment in a professional medical environment giving them the best skills to underpin their learning.
Digital Technology



Our brand new Digital Technology Suite which is opening in September 2022, offers students a range of high standard facilities which includes two fully equipped digital technology suites using the latest in computer technology.
All of our students have access to the latest systems, applications and gaming software programmes, including application software, encryption programmes using the VEX5 education robotics systems.
Each of the Digital Technology Suites are modern and spacious equipped with the latest in digital technology equipment including large curved IT gaming monitors, to help align students for a future career in the digital technology field of expertise.
